An HUF (Hindu Undivided Family) Deed is a legal document that formally declares the existence of a Hindu Undivided Family under Hindu law. It is created mainly for the purpose of claiming separate income tax benefits and managing ancestral or joint family property. The Karta (usually the eldest male member) manages the HUF, and income earned by the HUF is assessed separately under the Income Tax Act, 1961. Forming an HUF is useful for tax planning, asset management, and preserving family wealth.

Documents Required to Create an HUF:

• HUF Deed - On stamp paper, signed by Karta and all coparceners
• PAN Card of HUF - Apply through Form 49A
• Bank Account in HUF's Name - Open with HUF deed and PAN
• Affidavit/Declaration by Karta - Stating formation of HUF, list of members, and source of capital
• Identity & Address Proof of Karta and all members (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.)
• Photographs of Karta and members (for bank and PAN application)
